Every good operation needs field rations — fuel that travels well, requires no equipment, and delivers when you need it most. The No-Bake Sunflower Seed Protein Energy Bites are exactly that. Code Name: The Sunflower Operative. These no-bake bites are built around Sprout Living’s Sunflower Seed Protein — a single-ingredient, organic powder with a naturally nutty, slightly sweet flavour that doesn’t need to be masked or disguised. Roll them on a Sunday, keep them in the fridge, and you’ve got a ready-to-deploy snack for the entire week. High protein, no refined sugar, no mysterious ingredients. Just clean, honest fuel doing exactly what it’s supposed to.

No-Bake Sunflower Seed Protein Energy Bites
No-bake protein energy bites made with sunflower seed protein, almond butter, oats, and a touch of honey. Ready in 15 minutes (plus 30 minutes chilling time), no oven required, and meal-prep friendly for the whole week. Clean ingredients, genuinely satisfying, and small enough to eat before anyone notices.
Ingredients
Method
- Add the oats, sunflower protein powder, cinnamon, and salt to a large mixing bowl and stir to combine.
- Add the almond butter, honey, and vanilla extract. Mix well until everything starts to come together.
- Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
- Check the texture — the mixture should hold together when pressed. If it feels too dry or crumbly, add oat milk one tablespoon at a time until it binds.
- Roll the mixture into balls roughly the size of a large tablespoon — you should get around 12.
- Place on a plate or tray lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge and deploy as needed.
Notes
🍳 NOTES FOR THE COOK
- Nut-free option: Swap almond butter for sunflower butter — it pairs beautifully with the sunflower protein and keeps this fully nut-free.
- Sweetness: ¼ cup of honey gives a mild sweetness. If you prefer less sugar, reduce to 3 tablespoons — the chocolate chips will carry some of the sweetness.
- Texture fix: If your mixture is too wet to roll, add a tablespoon more oats. Too dry — add oat milk a little at a time.
- Storage: Keeps in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Freezes well for up to 2 months — just pull a few out the night before.
- Why sunflower protein? Sprout Living’s sunflower seed protein is single-ingredient, USDA organic, and Whole30 approved — no gums, no fillers, no “flavouring.” It adds a clean, slightly nutty flavour that works naturally in these bites without any powdery aftertaste.
